CIC
Reference No. 124 Data
Providers: Mitchell International, MOTOR Information Services, ADP
Claims Solutions Group Original Time
Allowance: MitchellRight fender
2.0 hrs; Left fender 1.5 hrs MOTORRight fender
0.3 hrs; Left fender 0.3 hrs ADP (see
below)
Issue:
- MOTORHas not recognized that the fender must be
completely removed to facilitate the removal of the flare.
- MitchellTime allowance for left fender insufficient
Note: When removing both front
fender flares, Hood must also be removed.
Suggestion:
- MOTORInclude the time allowance to R&I the
fender
- MOTOROffer detailed "labor text note."
- MitchellIncrease the time for the left fender to match
the time allowance for the right. Removing an undamaged fender to facilitate
the removal of the fender flare requires additional cautionary measures, that
otherwise would not be required. (Mitchell's labor text note for this operation
is complete, except for including the time to R&I the front bumper which
must be extracted from the P-pages)
Response:
- Mitchell Left fender requires removal of wire harness and
brackets. Time has been adjusted to 2.0 hrs to reflect this.
- MOTOR MOTOR: (DR1GC92) Updated the labor time
on the fender flare to 0.5 hours with footnote "Time is after
fender is removed."
- ADPADP provides the R & I time for the fender
on the Cadillac Escalade and 1992 - 1999 GMC Yukon. Per the current GM
procedure information, the R & I of the fender is not required for the
flare replacement on 2000 - 2002 models. ADP does not provide the R & I of
the fender for the 2000 and newer models because of GM's
recommendation.
