Data Base Inquiry Reference No. 138 2000-2002 Audi TT Coupe/Roadster R&R or R&I Rocker Molding |
|||||||||||||||||
|
Date of Request:
April 20, 2002 The time allowance is insufficient due to the additional time required to remove the excessive rubberized gravel-guard/undercoating that impedes access to the 8 torque bolts that retain the molding. The rubberized undercoating not only covers up the location of the torque bolts, but must also be meticulously removed from the torque bolt grooves so the torque tool can fit into the bold head.
Suggestion: To all providers: 1. Time should be increased to 1.2 hours per rocker molding and/or a "labor note" added to inform the estimator of the impediment problem to the torque bolts. 2. The "labor note" should also inform the estimator the Scuff-Plate replacement requirement. 3. And should also remind estimator that rubberized material must be replaced. Results: Mitchell
Response: The allowance to R&I/R&R the Rocker Panel molding does not include the removal or application of Anti-Corrosion rust resistant material, i.e. undercoating. Reference to this subject can be found on Page P3 of the Procedure pages under the Additions to Labor Times column.
